During a consultation, we’ll discuss your needs, demonstrate various carriers, and ensure you find the perfect fit for you and your baby. Whether you’re new to babywearing, need to upgrade your carrier, need a new carrier or need help setting up your current carrier, we’re here to help. We also have demo dolls available during your consult or you can use your own baby. We can stop at any time during the consult so you can attend to babies needs so please don't stress if this happens in your consult. I will work with you and baby, I'm a Mum too, I get it

The short answer is you should come both before and after. It's great to come and try lots of options before baby comes. I have weighted dolls available for you to practice with. Coming before you have baby is helpful as you are able to concentrate better and it gives you time to practice before your baby arrives. Coming once you have baby although a lot of people do this, is a bit harder for the postnatal mum as we are often tired and able to concentrate thanks to the newborn fog and lack of sleep plus meeting a little person's needs in the consult. If you purchase a carrier from us, you can use your complimentary fitting either in person or online, after baby arrives so I can help you fit it and make sure you are confident in using it. Some families also book a consult whilst pregnant and then come back for a second shorter consult once baby arrives to make sure the options they liked is going to work best for their body combos together. Of course, a lot of families come to me only once bub arrives and they realise babywearing is something they need, that is totally fine. Come whenever you feel you need to. Later is better than never as babywearing is such a helpful tool to have in your parenting journey even with toddlers :)

In the description of each service on the bookings page, there is a list of who would suit this service but here is a quick breakdown: *45min Babywearing Support Experience: For BYO fit checks and families narrowed down to 1/2 choices on our website. *90min Ultimate Babywearing Support: For families needing to try lots of options/new to babywearing. *Let's Babywear Together Group session: For small group private consults such as your family or a group of friends (3-10 people). Please contact us before booking your session to discuss available dates and times as these are often different to our available website dates/times as well as the location you would like for this session whether at our home showroom or your own homes. *Order pick up and carrier fitting: Complimentary 30min fitting for families that have purchased a carrier from A Joey Named Jack Babywearing and need help setting it up and using it. This is also the option for families wanting to collect a carrier from our home showroom in Beldon, WA, rather than having it posted out. *Video Consultation (post purchase): Complimentary 30min online fitting for families that have purchased a carrier from A Joey Named Jack Babywearing and need help setting it up and using it once they receive it. Please note we also do educational or group bookings for organisations, businesses, playgroup WA, midwifes, doulas, child health nurses, medical professionals and events. Yes, please do! The best way to try the carrier out is with your little one. We also have demo dolls if your still pregnant or worried about trying with your little one or if they get tired durign the session. We have lots of options

Babies cry, it's just a face of life. But, I'm a Mum and I totally understand. I'm here for you and we can stop at anytime for yours or your babies needs. We stop, take a breath, do whatever is needed in that time and continue on when ready. Please never say sorry for stopping in a consult and feeding your baby. It's totally fine, I allow extra time. Just know you are not alone and I'm here to help and support you. My first cried constantly for basically the entre first year, I love him to bits, but he was a tough baby. Believe me when I say, I understand and it's ok <3 We also have weighted demo dolls, so you are most welcome to swap to one at any time. You are also always welcome to bring a support person at no extra cost to your consult if that helps you as well.

Yes, they are very welcome. Sometimes it's nice to have another set of ears listening or just someone to hold the baby. If you partner wants to babywear too, I recommend they come to a consult too so they can also learn how to use the carrier and we can make sure your option fits both wearers. There is no extra cost to bring your partner with you to your consult.

Absolutely! A worn baby is a loved baby and I would love to help you get into something that will work for you both than be disapointed in your choice and stop wearing. My goal is to help you to love babywearing and do it comfortably.
